Introducing
Watch the Block

The Voice of Your Community... Amplified!

About Us

The Watch the Block mobile application aims to build healthier relationships between police officers and the communities they are tasked with protecting. To this end, the app collects real-time data and grants users the ability to rate the quality of an interaction with a police officer. Once submitted, the ratings are assigned to the precinct responsible for policing the geographical area where the interaction occurred. The ratings accumulated by each individual precinct are referred to as the precinct’s Community Satisfaction Score (CSS). These scores allow us to shine a spotlight on precincts with strong community ties; they also create a layer of accountability for officers by providing community members with data to support complaints against poorly rated precincts.

How often are there updates to the App?

Precinct Community Satisfaction Scores (CSS) are updated in real-time as users in your community assign ratings to officers in their respective geographical areas.

It all sounds great, but what does this App actually do?

We understand that discussing the relationship between police officers and the communities they are tasked with protecting can be a polarizing issue.  As a result, our app allows the voice of community members to be amplified with every rating, positive or negative.  The app simply collects ratings and reports out the satisfaction score for precincts within the user's geographical area.

I’ve seen other Apps that serve similar purposes. What makes yours the best?

We are the best because we place emphasis on the data, and the voice of community members.  Our company aims to bridge the gap that exists between community members and police officers.  By sharing community satisfaction scores with users, and publishing precinct ratings, we aim to place a spotlight on positive officer stories, and precincts with good relationships with community members.  Our app also allows citizens to document negative interactions and provides the tools to promote accountability and transparency within their precincts.
